The attack begins in IT. The crisis ends in the Council: when lack of coordination is the real risk in Cybersecurity
This keynote examines how an attack that starts with a compromised credential, a misconfiguration or unauthorized access can quickly evolve from a technical incident into a strategic crisis impacting reputation, business continuity and trust. The session builds on a core premise: attacks are inevitable; what truly differentiates organizations is how they respond when information is incomplete and pressure is high. In those moments, systems are not the first to fail — coordination is. Executive leadership, technical teams, communications, legal and operations must be aligned before the crisis hits; otherwise, the incident escalates faster than decision-making capacity. The talk will emphasize joint preparedness, role clarity and the integration of cybersecurity into board-level governance to prevent a technical breach from becoming a leadership crisis. The keynote will be delivered by Sandra Bardón, Cybersecurity Officer at the United Nations ICC, with extensive international experience in cybersecurity.
